Using CholangioCycle

Terms of Use

Last updated: August 7, 2026

These Terms of Use ("Terms") apply to cholangiocycle.ca and its participant features (the "Site"), hosted by the Canadian Cholangiocarcinoma Collaborative ("C3," "we," "us," or "our"). By using the Site, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy.

Purpose of the Site

CholangioCycle supports a community cycling and fundraising challenge for cholangiocarcinoma awareness and research. The Site lets participants create profiles, record cycling activity, share progress, follow a leaderboard, and access external fundraising pages.

Accounts and eligibility

You are responsible for providing accurate information, keeping access to your sign-in email secure, and all activity performed through your account. If you are not legally able to agree to these Terms in your province or territory, a parent or legal guardian must agree and supervise your participation.

Participant information and public content

You retain ownership of photos, notes, names, and other content you submit. You give C3 a limited, non-exclusive permission to host, display, reproduce, and format that content only as reasonably necessary to operate and promote the CholangioCycle event and the features you choose to use.

You must have the right to submit your content. Do not post private, misleading, infringing, discriminatory, unlawful, unsafe, or abusive material. We may remove content or restrict accounts when reasonably necessary to protect participants, the event, or the Site.

Activities and leaderboard results

Submit only genuine cycling activities and accurate distances. Leaderboard totals are provided for community participation and recognition; they are not official athletic measurements. We may review, correct, exclude, or remove activities that appear inaccurate, duplicated, unsafe, outside the event period, or inconsistent with event rules.

Participation is voluntary. You are responsible for choosing activities appropriate for your health, experience, equipment, weather, traffic, and local conditions. Follow applicable laws and seek professional advice where appropriate. The Site does not provide medical, training, or safety advice.

Fundraising

Fundraising pages and donations are operated by the Canadian Cancer Society or another identified third-party platform, not by this Site. Donations, receipts, refunds, and payment processing are governed by that platform's terms. Do not represent that you can bind C3 or the Canadian Cancer Society or promise a tax receipt, prize, or use of funds beyond the information officially provided by the relevant organization.

Acceptable use

You may not:

  • interfere with the Site, its security, authentication, or other participants;
  • access accounts or data without authorization;
  • upload malicious code or use automated methods that unreasonably burden the Site;
  • impersonate another person or organization;
  • use the Site for unlawful, fraudulent, or unauthorized commercial purposes.

Availability and changes

We may modify, suspend, or discontinue features; correct results; change event details; or restrict access for operational, security, legal, or event-administration reasons. We will try to communicate material changes when reasonably practical, but continuous or error-free availability is not guaranteed.

Third-party services

The Site links to or relies on services such as Google, Supabase, Vercel, Strava, and Canadian Cancer Society fundraising pages. Those services are governed by their own terms. We are not responsible for third-party content, availability, transactions, or practices.

Disclaimers and responsibility

The Site is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. To the extent permitted by law, C3 disclaims implied warranties and is not responsible for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential loss arising from use of the Site, participation in cycling activities, or third-party services. Nothing in these Terms excludes rights or responsibilities that cannot legally be excluded.

Ending access

You may stop using the Site at any time and may request account deletion by contacting us. We may suspend or terminate access for a material breach of these Terms, security risk, misuse, or legal requirement. Provisions that reasonably need to continue after termination will survive.

Changes and contact

We may update these Terms by posting a revised version and date. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised Terms. Questions can be sent to events@cholangio.ca.
